Jail Break Chocolates

Our friend Jane is just back from over a year working in Hungary.  Hurrah!  She's a super talented artist, designer, copy writer and all round lovely person.  And she wanted to meet up to give us a gift so we arranged to meet for a drink at Panizzi yesterday evening.

Jane talks even more than I do and before we knew it, we were a few beers in and feeling peckish.  Between us we ordered a cheese board, the charcuterie platter and the greek platter with olives & feta.  I didn't take photos!!  New to all this blogging malarkey, I completely forgot.  So you'll just have to take my word for it that it was delicious. Until yesterday, we hadn't been to Panizzi for ages but I'm so glad we went back.  The meat and cheese was spot on and just right for sopping up some of the surplus alcohol in style.  The service was lovely too and they are SO lucky to have that beautiful old building.

But I also wanted to tell you about our wonderful present from Jane.  Handmade chocolates from Hungary.  I won't relate the whole story but we have a standing joke with Jane that one day, she'll end us up in jail.  So when she saw these, she thought of us and brought us our very own jail breaking kit....

They're so amazing, they look and even feel like rusty tools.  Made in a tiny chocolate shop in Budapest.  Just another good reason to shop independent, wherever you are!
